This tour of Michigan's Thumb Lake Huron Shoreline drive-north from Port Huron to Bay City along US-25 was extremely exciting, for me at least.

These views of Lake Huron and others that I did not capture are almost always at State owned parks and roadsides. The Lakeport State Park was impressive for its natural look, the camping site fits into the scenic background very well without disturbing it. Michgan's state flower, the orange container with a flashing yellow top, is in evidence everywhere. Of course.

Then there is the issue of the stolen commons, Lake Huron is shared jointly by the U. S. and Canada. But access to the Lake, expecially between Bay City and Alpena is non existent 99.1% of the way. The only public acess is at the State owned sites; to me this hardly seems fair of just. Take another example of Long Lake near Alpena. Although the Lake is aproxiamtely 21 miles in circumferance, a mere 60 or 70 feet of the shoreline is open to public access.
